FAQs

Your questions answered

Can I join a group journey as a solo traveller?

Yes. Many of our guests travel solo, and our group journeys are designed to make it easy to meet like-minded people. All accommodation is in single private rooms, with no single supplement.

Can couples or friends book together?

Absolutely. Couples, friends and family are all welcome, and we’ll help arrange rooms to suit your party.

How many people are in each group?

Our group journeys are small by design, with 6 to 12 travellers and an ideal group of 8 to 10. That keeps the experience personal, especially for gorilla trekking, community visits and cultural experiences. Some specialist journeys, such as photography or wellness, may run with smaller numbers. A departure is confirmed once the minimum number of travellers has booked, and the details are on each journey’s page.

When is a departure confirmed?

A departure is confirmed once the minimum number of travellers is reached, which is 6 for our small-group journeys. We’ll keep you updated as places fill, so you know where a departure stands before you commit to flights.

Are flights included?

No. International flights and visas are not included. Each journey page lists exactly what is and isn’t covered, and our team can help with any questions about the journey.

What happens after I enquire?

A member of our team will reply personally, confirm availability and answer your questions. If you’d like to go ahead, we’ll guide you through booking and preparation.

What’s the difference between a hosted journey and a small-group safari?

A small-group safari is a scheduled departure led by Amatsiko’s local guides. A hosted journey is built around a shared interest, such as wellbeing or photography, and is accompanied by a guest host alongside our local team.
